Stanford 10 Results

The Stanford 10 with the Bible Assessment is a really strong external measurement of achievement for our school and our students. Using this assessment tool, we are able to determine what students know and are able to do at the end of each school year. The reading subtests measure the spectrum of important reading components, from recognizing sounds to word identification, from vocabulary skills to comprehension. At appropriate levels, the subtests measure phonemic awareness, decoding, phonics, vocabulary, and comprehension. The mathematics subtests measure number sense and operation/patterns, and relationships. Questions assess processes in communication and representation, estimation, mathematical connections, and reasoning and problem solving. The language subtest measures achievement in applying the principles that form effective writing. The disciplines of life science, earth science, physical science, and the nature of science are represented on the Stanford 10 with questions that elicit problem solving and inquiry using basic understanding of science.
